Advice on champagne

What was cheapest price that AFFers were able to purchase Veuve in doz lots in last 12mths? Wasn't there a $41.00 mistake deal via CM last October or so?

Sort of.... a few us managed to use the 30% off code before CM marked Veuve as 'out of stock'. Mine ended up being free due to some random WISH gift card magic refund that I still don't understand. Also, I think I got awarded cash back too, so I was actually paid for my 6 pack of Veuve.

I thought I got mine below $40 but I'd have to check.
Edit: apparently mine came out to $38 with cash back.

Taittinger is $50 and Veuve is $56 at First Choice at the moment. Not brilliant, but better than the list prices have been for a while.

I thought the Perrier Jouet Brut for $55 was a good buy. It's always a pleasant surprise when First Choice throw up a rare good offer

The sub $50 Charles Heidsieck on Gooddrop has now disappeared - I do hope some others grabbed it whilst it was there - it was just too cheap at this price.

I'm no moderator but I am thinking this thread is turning into a "wine deals" thread rather than an "Advice on Champagne" thread...
Drink up and tell me about the champagne.. quality is remembered long after price is forgotten ;) :D :)

Well, I destroyed a bottle of Mumm when I forgot it in the freezer
I'll post how it goes when it's opened (or I'll turn it into champagne jelly, blahaha)

Your wish is my command. :)
The Krug Grande Cuvée with the pancetta breakfast omelet was a brilliant start to the day in NYC.:)

My advice is buy it cheap and drink it often. Of course I'm less likely to do the second without the first.

CHAMPAGNE ....AT ITS BEST!!

Please find attached the file on the GOSSET 15 Ans de Cave Brut , Champagne and more info below.

This is a one off, 1999 Reserve at only $215 a bottle. RRP is $250 and even at that price I believe it is under priced.

A Maximum of 6 x GOSSET 15 Ans de Cave Brut allowed per client as only 48 bottles in Australia, I have just tried this an its one of the best Champagnes that I have ever sampled.

These will go fast, free delivery on 2 bottles or more and Yes these each come in the wooden box.

These are available from Langtons if anyone interested sounds like a good deal. Not sure you can get these anywhere else this cheap.

Like the [post=1500960]$80 2014 Tyrrell's Vat 9 Shiraz[/post], this $215 Gosset 15 Ans de Cave Brut seems a (relative) bargain and (possible) must-buy which will/should sell-out fast :)

It would be interesting to compare with Gosset's usual prestige cuvée, Celebris, which has spent ten, rather than fifteen, years on lees (Langton's sells it for $240, Prince Wine Store had it for $175 during their annual champagne tasting last October)

The benchmark for late-disgorgement, and one of my favourite champagnes, is Bollinger RD, which is aged on less for at least eight years, often ten and sometimes twelve, and costs $300+ (cheapest to buy at David Jones via AmEx offers or Langton's with voucher)

In general, I prefer richer, more complex, barrel-fermented champagnes, such as Bollinger, Krug, Selosse and Gosset, whose [post=1493631]Grande Reserve was a wedding wine and remains a favourite house champagne[/post]

Along with Salon, these would/should be on the bucket list of any serious champagne connoisseur, being rare single/twin-vineyard wines:

Bollinger Vieilles Vignes Françaises
Krug Clos d’Ambonnay
Krug Clos Du Mesnil
Philipponnat Clos des Goisses

I'm half-way :)

OK I would like to offer some advice on Champagne - I do hope I am not out of order here. I would like to advise ALL AFFers that I really like Perrier-Jouet - I think it is extrememely delectable.

OK now for the non advice - I am not going to advise AFFers that Perrier-Jouet can be acquired at a very attractive price at a tad over $40 through Bootleg Liquor. Go in through CR for 8% rebate and use discount code 'SHAREWINE' for 20% disc - So effectively 28% off $53 plus freight.

Rcvd this advice via email from Bootleg - pricing worked for me so I logged in as Cruiserette who did not receive email offer and disc code worked for her account also - good luck - sorry for failing to provide advice.
