I have tasted a couple of the Champagne selection from wine direct. I also buy quite a bit and am rarely disappointed. I received a bottle of the Bernard Remy Carte Blanche as part of a mixed dozen reds with the Champagne included and it was delightful. I'm more of a red drinker, but have on more than one occasion been in a position to have a glass of Champagne and have found the Moet & Chandon and Veuve very average so was skeptical at a label I had never heard of in Bernard Remy, but was leagues ahead of both the Dan Murphy's stocked Champagne.

As for the Le Mesnil, I tried a bottle as a celebration at a restaurant in Adelaide and payed around $150 for a bottle of the 2007 Prestige Grand Cru. It was hands down a fantastic expreience. I am eager to try the rest and I'm sure I can track some down from my Wine Direct broker!
Excellent, thanks for the reviews!

Right so, I've been reading tomvexille and blackcats first TR which is great by the way....apart from the fact I got a bit jelly:p
where do you buy this piper heidseck rare??

I dont think its duty free in oz? Is it SIN duty free? Or can you order it? I have a friends address I use in oz for deliveries or if I can get it to NZ would be great.

I'm wondering the same thing, even though I can't afford a bottle

Absolutely my 2 staples also - along with Tait and Bolly - but the ladies just love Mumm - Cruiserette will have some gfs around for bubbles and offer them the choice of what's cold and Veuve / Mumm are their 1st choices most time. Gotta keep the girls happy cove.

I don't much like champagne at all.

But will try them all, in eg the QF Flounge and on board QFi in J or F - eg on board SQ in F (Krug and Dom) and am always pretty unimpressed. It's drinkable but good still wines are so much better...

I was at a party that was serving Mumm last weekend and it was a big crowd pleaser. And I actually quite liked it.

To me, it seemed sweeter than the others. Maybe that's why ladies often like it? But I can imagine that my perceived sweetness is probably what true champagne connoisseurs don't like.

I would get some, but not a massive PJ fan. Price is right.

Mrs_O and I are fans of P-J and it will remind us of our stay in the Langham London. The price did look good to me but having not bought it before, I wasn't sure what other deals members here might have secured.

I think so

I'd be buying at that price

Here's the link: Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut | Bootleg Liquor.

I have a 10% discount code which I can share by PM if interested. The rest of the discount (20% cash back) for me is via my company cash back scheme so no dice for you guys unfortunately.

The 10% brings it down to $45 a bottle which still appears to be cheaper than anywhere else so you might feel it is worth it.

They don't accept Amex even though there is nowhere I could find on the site which does say what cards they do accept.

Tks - sorry I didn't see the link - tks for posting.

Oh and if the offer for sharing 10% disc code still on table would appreciate that by pm.

Are Bootleg Liquor newcomers? Must admit I have never heard of them.

Back to the P-J - buyable from Dan's around $57 now and then - then with WISH/CR I can get 13.5% off that price - so eff ~$49.31 which is about as good as I could conjure up - so $45 great value and $37.33 UFB value - IMHO of course.
