Woolworths backflips - QF points are coming back

To be equally pedantic .... to spend $3000 to get just $2 back under the new scheme is quite frankly astounding and would take an extraordinary amount of effort to achieve. Do you work for Coles or are you just an expert at deliberately un-gaming the system just to make a point? (Pun intended).

I've earned $2...its not that hard if you arent getting offers and dont want to buy specific items.
 
One of our family's accounts got an email (finally) but just an here are specials just for you etc and "Scan to win $10".

No "rate this offer" on the email either.

Perhaps the feedback was depressing them?
 
How many have received the latest offer of receiving WW$ for spend? I've got an offer of earning 80 WW$ for spending $115 in each of the following two weeks, commencing February 22. If these WW$ can be retained and converted at the rate of 87 Qantas Points per WW$ then it's good value, especially if paying with a DJ Amex. Or are the WW$ automatically subtracted from your next shop once you reach 10 WW$ in your account?

Same offer but 10WW$ for $50. IME, the WW$ are subtracted automatically, but that's through the self-checkout. Never tried it through the few, always crowded, staffed checkouts.
 
So finally an offer-spend $70 get $15 off for each of the next 2 weeks.

W$ are automatically redeemed in batches of $10. Staff have no control over it, they just get a popup message saying x W$ have been applied. They are able to undo it by voiding the scan of the rewards card.
The only way to not have W$ used is to either not scan the card or make transactions in less then $10 amounts.

These offers will come straight off your total shopping bill.
 
Some businesses shouldn't have loyalty programs. It becomes counter productive and acts as a cost center rather than a revenue generator.

When you have a duopoly in the market, your 'loyalty program' is always going to fail hard when you try and copy other markets where there is strong competition. I have some friends at EDR, and some of them are totally clueless.

Even my mum has thrown out her EDR card.

While I and many others may prefer it, Woolworths has not just Coles but either IGA or Aldi (sometimes all) within cooee. Aldi may not have the range but it is still a formidable competitor, as is Costco where it has opened, although the latter's style (and A$60 annual membership fee does not suit every shopper.

Sure trumps the offer I got from WW.

Spend $135 or more in one shop to get $15 WW (Pesos) back for each of the next 3 weeks and no option of choosing QFF points. :down:

Already returned to Coles this week (2 shops so far) and won't be coming back until they start offering QF points on a regular basis again.

In some areas it's a monopoly but I guess the clientèle varies depending on the region. Do inner city store customers care about a $1 saving?
Also, revenues are also generated from placement & promotions so sometimes it's about moving product and foot traffic rather than on margins like the competition. Essentially means it's a different business model and thus not competitors to a degree. Similar to how 7 Eleven can stay open all night and still run at a profit since they've paid for all expenses for the month before any sales are even made.

No it hasn't been introduced yet. Those getting QFF points are receiving targetted offers that include the provision of points.

You would call it an oligopoly with two dominant firms.
