The first bkg I made was made in my PGR membership. It was prepaid so I'm getting a refund. I have since put in another BRG request on a night where the rate was much cheaper but I did not prepay, so I expect the room rate confirmation to change. Be aware that Rydges puts 3.5% on AMEX.

On the subject of BRGs, Rydges only allows it on 1 night - great for 'country' connections. For a month in Manhattan, Marriott did a 25% off the whole month on room and tax, saving thousands.

Follow up: just got knocked back as Rydges was $1 cheaper PRE-PAID. So, it does need to be the absolutely cheapest prepaid bkg w' Rydges. However, they did not compare it to the members rate which would have been $15 cheaper.

So one claim was approved and one was knocked back?

Yes ... so far. I immediately got searching for another site that's cheaper and around the 6th try found something. The 2nd bkg date is a particularly 'cheap' night at Rydges. I am on first name terms with the person who handles the BRGs. :)

I thought that the bus transfer (is it called T Bus?), was free IF you have a paper copy of yr Rydges booking. Perhaps that's fallen by the wayside. It should not, as Rydges offers the free hotel shuttle pick up out of hours ie really early or really late.

We had to pay.

I used the public bus on a visit about 5 months ago and it was free with a flash of the printed booking, it was still mentioned on the site when I stayed late Nov 15 but I was after hours so used the Rydges shuttle

I use the train to transfer terminals at SYD. Zero hassle for $5

I agree. Much faster and more reliable. Every time I pass the T-Bus transfer line and see the people waiting there with their luggage, I'm tempted to suggest the train as an alternative method of transfer. However, by then, I figure they've already purchased their ticket for the bus transfer (they've installed a ticket vending machine now).

However many times I have gone through international to domestic and vice versa, I have not noticed the train.

I didn't know there was a terminal train until I asked about a Dom Q-Jet* International transfer last week.

I think they are hiding the train terminal to ensure that SYD airport maintains it's award as one of the least friendly for o/s visitors. We know what to expect.

I have 2 bkgs here but in my PGR membership I cannot view them. The only button I can find it to cancel them. What secret am I missing to view my bkgs?

There's a voucher for free t-bus transfer on the hotel website. It does not ask to also have a copy of your booking. It seems to me that anyone could print and use it.

Got the bus today. Arrived just as one was due to leave. The driver took the voucher from me. Those that had the voucher on their phone had to give their name, which he wrote down. No one showed a booking confirmation. Twas great!

I asked PGR how I view my bkgs on line as I wanted to check all was OK. I couldn't find a phone number so I had to email them. Here's the response showing no initiative or help:
