156 views and not a reply [shouting into the wind] - didn't anyone else get this? I wonder if it's worth it. As it's not Amex I'd be more likely to use it given all the restrictions on Amex.

There are quite a few threads about this card if you search the forums. Looks like there was a signup bonus earlier in the year for 60k and 150SC.

I got the same email as you, even though I've had this card for almost 4 years! I'm amused that they no longer tout the "four reduced price flights per year on saver" as a selling point, since they devalued it from 2for1.

I find it a useful card, because of the restrictions on amex, and I do occasionally use the reduced companion rate, although if Flexi was still allowed, I'd be using all of them! YMMV of course :)

$10,000 in three months is too much of an ask, for me.

1.25 points per dollar for a visa is the highest I can think of apart from Citi Prestige

1.25 per $1 is good, that converts to 0.92 KF per dollar :) but the 10k spend is too much discretionary spending for too little time.

Min spend is too high

It is high, for not a great return. Too many other cards with less spend and higher returns currently available.

Re: Velocity Visa offer Earn up to 40,000 bonus Velocity Points and a $150 flight vou

One thing that continually frustrates me (and I suspect others) is the complete lack of loyalty benefits for those of us who hold on to cards. When the 60K points + 150 SC offer was made, I complained to Virgin Money (as a current card holder) and was given a 10K point retention incentive.

Let's all hope that the introduction of positive credit reporting will change the mindset of card issuers in this country.

$10K is not a huge stretch for our household - think we spend that on Woolies bills!

I probably won't bother as I can't be troubled going through the application process yet again. Plus ditching another card to make space.

Agreed 10k is unobtainable for most - 3 months from card approval - might only get 2.5 months to hit that spend if Citibank are slack getting it out.

1.25 points per dollar for a visa is the highest I can think of apart from Citi Prestige

Ye olde Citibank Signature converted over on a 15% transfer special will give an effective earn rate of 1.15PPD - hopefully Citibank will offer this again 'annual fee free for life' for those who didn't pick it up the last couple of times.... Such a fantastic deal for a Visa.

The other thing to remember is that it is a direct sweep card. You can usually get an additional 15% on non-sweep cards to Velocity with the regular transfer bonuses (and maintain flexibility to other programmes)
