Yes.
Let me know if you need a few - got a bunch here you can have. CX cards are the same for inbound/outbound.

Thanks. Last time I flew CX J back to Australia I didn't get any, so wasn't sure. In any event it may not be necessary - I have a few QF spares myself, and an APEC card also.

Does anyone know if Air New Zealand provide Express Cards for J Pax out of MEL?
Maybe I'll need to find one in the next 2 days.. Already have a card leftover for inbound just no departures.

They certainly do. I got one as WP, so J will most definitely.

I was handed an express card from TG this morning. I headed to 'something to declare' and as I showed the attendant my customs card she snaffled the express card which I still had in my hand! Grrr.

Oh that is the worst!

I had my own BYO express card in my hand this morning (since apparently SQ doesn't hand them out to VA WPs?), and purposely hid it as I approached the Customs devil in case she decided it was hers to take.

I make a habit of tucking them away; I dont think Ive handed in a single one yet leaving Melbourne.

Sitting in FRA airport in transit this morning. I showed my pass on leaving SYD, but when I saw there were so few people I snatched it back from the immigration bloke. He seemed surprised. ;)

Didn't your mum tell you that it's rude to snatch things? My luck, he would've snatched it back.

It got me thinking, you could attach the pass to a rubber band attached to your sleeve cuff. It would happen so quickly they'd never even notice.

I got given a few extra VA express passes today so happy to part with two, which can be used for either departure or incoming travel.
Glad to finally be able to give back to all the helpful new(ish) internet pals I've made on here.

First dibs, just send me a PM.
I'll send them once I'm back in Aus next week :)

Success! Asked for and got a SYD arrivals card at the gate in SIN (after they scrutinised my boarding pass until they saw "PNTR Gold" I guess).

Heads-up about the departures side in SYD... when I left (16:00 weekday), it was very quiet, and there was no express line at all. But after clearing immigration, somebody was standing there asking people to whether they had any express cards, and plucking them out of people's hands if spotted. So stash them away safely in advance if you're not going to use one!

Doesn't Syd airport charge back the airlines for the number of customers that utilise the express service? So if you don't use the service and they remove the cards from you, they are overcharging the airlines?

Pretty much...

I think you mean overcharge more than they do already. Sydney airports fees have nothing to do with charging a fair fee for services rendered but gouging as much as they can from both airlines and their passengers.

This was similar to my experience. Low volume so I just went through normally as there was no queue at all. At the head of the cattle race an immigration person also "plucked" my Express Card. I plucked it right back.

I used Express departures yesterday (Monday) at SYD. At the external entrance to the short Express tunnel there was a person checking I had an express departure card then once inside another person scanned the bar code on my boarding pass. All Express passengers' boarding passes were being scanned. I think Sydney Airport are onto the number of people who are retaining their card in times of low volume. There was no attempt to cross reference entitlement but that might be next.

For what it's worth, there's nothing on the express cards that says they're not transferable, or can't be used for a future flight (aside from perhaps, the airline's logo on the card). If they're going to enforce it, they'd better be clear what the entitlement actually is…
