As EY have no lounge of there own at HKG, can I get in somewhere else? Anyone else have experience?
VA website suggests not. Anyone flown J on this route who can confirm lounge that EY use?

What does the EY page say about access in HKG? It's probably a contract lounge in which case if you are flying Y you will have difficulty accessing. I find that accessing anything other than EY or SQ lounges as a VA plat even if you are flying those airlines will not happen. Let me know if you find otherwise. Good luck.

From the Etihad website it seems that they don't have a lounge agreement full-stop for Hong Kong (i.e. no lounge for J/Y at all).

So I would say there is nothing that your VA plat card would get you into there flying Etihad.

Thanks for the replies. i think the issue here is that EY were recently code sharing with air Seychelles with a 4 digit flight number. However I have just had a schedule change showing the flight is now EY833 operated by Etihad, so I'm guessing they will sort something out shortly with another airline re: lounge access, given they start flying daily in July on this route. I'm still interested to hear from anyone who flew J on this route on the old codeshare flight operated by air Seychelles, just to see which lounge they had access to.

On another note Plutek, I was able to use the SATS lounge at Tokyo Narita recently with VA Plat card on an EY ticket flying Tokyo to Abu Dhabi, so there are some arrangements that work with the card. I was also allowed two guests into the lounge without a problem. Pretty average lounge mind you
