Platinum Companion Status and Requalification

Not sure if this is better suited here or in VFF, but I suspect that the answer isn't immediately clear anyway.

I've just made VA WP again in March and I'm sitting on 1410 SCs

In the next 2 months I have the following flights:

Full fare trans US Delta flight ~40 SCs (unsure of exact award - I flew prem econ V america on the inbound flight and go 60 SC)
Prem Econ LAX-BNE 120 SC
3 Domestic Flexi flight - 20SC
SYD-Europe Business 160 +120 SC each way

All of these are branded as VA flights.

In the second half of the year most of my flights will be domestic (I hope) and I dunno how many I'm likely to fly.

Regardless, this means by May I will have well over 2000 SCs by May and will be able to gift status

The question I have is, does this also effectively extend my WP status by a year into 2017 or does it just move my review date from March to May?

It's a bit confusing reading the rules but I would have thought if I hit the 800 SC benchmark and sectors for re-qualification, I would automatically re-qualify?

EDIT- so I found some T&Cs it looks like when I hit 1800 I'll extend and then 2300 I"ll be able to gift.

If you've requalified as Platinum and your account reset date is in March, your requalification date stays March no matter how many SCs you earn. The only time your requalification date changes is when you go up a tier.

This is correct, gifting Gold/Platinum has no affect on your review date once you hit Plat its stays the same (4 years so far for me)
