I am flying solo with Qatar on two long haul flights both on the 777-300ER, I am trying to decide between a window (annoying when you have to get up to go to the bathroom) and an aisle seat. Is there any specific seat recommendations or is the window more quiet than the aisle? I am going to try and sleep for as many hours as possible. Thanks

Won't be any difference noise-wise between window and aisle in J I wouldn't think. If you want to guarantee you won't either disturb anyone else, or them disturb you, with trips to the bathroom I suggest you go for the middle 2 seats which both have direct aisle access.

To save a new thread. Thoughts on the best J seats on this aircraft? Will be traveling as a couple.

Each row in J has 3 pairs of seats, with the middle pair (E/F) both having direct aisle access. Choice depends on whether you like window seats. Suggest you check out seatguru for comments about specific seats for the configuration on your flight. Row 2 E/F ticked all the boxes for us but R3 just as good.

Any pros/cons of row 1?

Only that they have the toilets and galley in front which may or may not be relevant to you. I tend to avoid R1 on all flights (not just QR) because on the rare occasion I've been able to select it I've lost it at the last minute to pax with higher status. For me it's better to select R2 or R3 and know that's likely where I'll actually be seated.

So no obvious advantage to row 1 then?

Thanks for the feedback. Vaguely hoping that the A350 or Dreamline will replace the 777 by the time July rolls around.
