Doing an MR to Keep QF PS better isn't it than to keep VA PS.
Looser of the 2 drops to no status.
Am in both as of now, but need to start planning which to do.
EK J is nice.
But is NZ J nicer...?

A bit late now but since neither have lounge access as a benefit if I were you I would have tried to get Gold in one program and not bothered with the other. If your projected travel is mainly international then QF would be a better option IMO. If mainly domestic then either program would be suitable.
I would also question the wisdom of having to do a mileage run on any program to get very little return on your time and $.

I was in a situation where I had to decide between SG on one FFP or PS on two. I decided on SG on one based on where I fly, and the timetable and given the fact that most of my flying is domestic what if any lounges were available on routes that I fly.

Look at how you fly and think about what is important to you, your answer should be there.

My flights are short, due to cleaning work as a subbie, no a/l, no s/l, etc, I have got only long weekends to go for, so VA/NZ and QF/EK are still a tough decision.
Because I have paid for QP and will continue on that, lounge access is accounted for.
VA does not give lounge access except for the 2 domestic, ... as a VA PS, and no Koru at that.
While QF allows 1 and can be international. But then, QP covers that one.
Neither of these 2 have bonuses for SCs, only bonuses for FF points as PSs.
If only it was easier.
Domestically though, VA allows a VR member to buy domestic lounge access at $65 a head an entry. To complicate matters, a VA PS can buy annual access to the lounge at $300, QF is more expensive, but some of the lounges (esp VA PERd) are not good.
Bugga! Sorry, not swearing at anyone on here.
On the other hand, I could go back to QF NB/VA Red and save my money to buy shares in airport corporations and earn more $, seeing how much $ people spend at airports in Aust.
Mumble mumble!
Aye, Princess, SG is the "it"... eh?
