Despite extensive googling I can't quite work out the following, but am sure someone here will know!

20/9/14 my folks are travelling HKT- PER ON VA in J.

We are travelling at the same time HKT-BKK on Thai in J.

Flights leaving within 5 minutes of each other, so keen to stay together - but will we have the same lounge?

On an equally concerning note - is there really no alcoholic beverages in J on Thai domestic?

Thanks in in advance compadres!

Virgin uses the Thai lounge in HKT (as per their website). From what i can remember the international and domestic departures is the same place? So the lounge should be the same one. But I'm only going from memory here that they have a combined departures lounge.

There is no alcohol on domestic TG flights that i can remember. This also applies to domestic legs of international flights (eg NRT-HKT-BKK - no alcohol on the domestic).

I wouldn't call the HKT-PER leg short haul. Definitely in for the long haul flying that route on a 737!

Answers are:
1) separate lounges - both after security/immigration (for international) so no picking and choosing. Also different terminals being 1 DOM and 2 INT.

2) no booze in lounge or on board. Lounge dragon was nice enough to allow us to bring in a few overpriced beers from the public kiosks however.

777 was fun in J for a short hop, sub $180 AUD from memory.

Thanks for the update regarding lounges at HKT! I have to admit I didn't really appreciate there were separate terminals! Last time I was in HKT I continued on the domestic segment of an international flight (NRT-HKT-BKK) so we would have been at international I guess.

How much were the beers? Interesting to see monopoly in play in Thailand.

I can buy a beer for 60 baht in BKK airport but 105 baht airport in CNX airport.

100 Baht for a small can of Chang or Singha. And liquid restrictions are enforced even domestically - so no sneaky BYO :)

Tell me about it.

We are lucky in Australia we don't have those drastic LAG restrictions domestically.
