Hi Guys,

Just wondering how far in advance I'll find out whether my bid for an upgrade gets accepted on a flight to London which is departing on the Tuesday 8th July?

Cheers

London? Virgin do not fly to London .... assume you are talking about the SYD AUH segment ? Bids are confirmed by email 24-48 hrs before departure

yes well booked flights to London via virgin site so technically I guess the virgin flight is only to AUH then

cheers

Virgin were offering me $400 to upgrade Perth-Sydney for next week, I may have bid for $200 but $400 I think is a bit much.

Does everyone else's bid go in as USD too, then switches to AUD at some point closer to the flight? Found that a bit odd, and made me wonder if it wasn't working properly.

Ah, that explains it. And has anyone successfully upgraded one of them?

I'm off to Mel on Friday. Don't know if it's worth shelling out 300x3 for us to fly J for a 3ish hour flight. I guess if you were flying solo on a free amex ticket it's cheaper than buying flexible tickets and you save 19.8k points return. Worth doing Syd-per as the flights are longer and the Perth lounge is shiet

depends how full it is, i have gotten successful from 3 days out, or for flights with only 2 free seats, 24hrs. if its less than 24hrs till your flight and havent had a msg, ive been unsuccessful.
