Morning All ...

Just this week turned silver & celebrated by splashing $300 of my hard-earned. Much play on the website of the Lounge membership card (and the fact you need to have correct postal address in the Velocity A/c to receive it), but on completing the purchase the welcome screen said just to present Velocity membership card and BP to gain access.

Now, am looking to access Lounge later today and next week but, I've thrown out the VFF card probably 18months ago thinking I'd be sticking with QFF going forward, so will need to wait for the new silver beast to arrive (if they even mail them out these days!).

So, to my question: is Lounge Membership printed on the VA BP in the same way that QC Membership and Silver status is printed on the QF BPs, enabling access with just the BP?

Regards,

BD

Just present your boarding pass - they will see you have lounge membership in your account when they scan the boarding pass.

VA allows OLCI 48 hours, yes, 48 hours prior to domestic flight.
I found out this a while back, and always SEQ 001 when I do the OLCI now adays with VA.
As PS, you have 2 complimentary access to the Lounge.
Each time, in the past, when I buy the $65 access, they always ask for BP.
When you print out the BP, just make sure it shows Silver on it.
The VA Silver membership pack should come in the next few days, and VGW too.
I am expecting my pack in the next few days.
Strange, the bar is 250, but my account only shows 245! Must have lost 20 earnt and then added back on. Maybe mine was 265.
All the VA Lounges are very good, par with QFF, except the PER VA Lounge, you can't see out, its like a glassed in area, not as nice as SYD/MEL Lounges.

Thanks for the additional info, Poochie, I'm still getting used to the nuances if VA and velocity...like having the BP scanned on entering rather than just flashing a black card.

I was bemused that I hit 250 yesterday but the status didn't clock-over until today!

BD

It was alluded on here a few days or week ago, that a member had made PS with VA, but their SC did not get up to 250.
Mine sits at 245 for the past few days, I thought I lost something, but must have, maybe getting too old, must have lost some and gained some, so the nett SC is still 245.
I have not done the VA lounge entry with PS yet, only ever paying.
They must send out a Silver membership welcome pack.
I think once we get the welcome pack, you can just scan the card at the reader on entry to the VA lounge.
I still have to approach the desk, as am not sure if I want to spend $300, might do so later on, still musing.
Guess by now, this min, you have done the entry to the VA lounge with just the BP?

VA BP do show Velocity tier.
Too late for OP who would have done the trip already by now.

Did the Lounge visit twice.

ADL - scanned and waited. Great deal if info provided regarding the canx of 238.

SYD - scanned then the poor guy had to type in my Velocity number to verify Lounge Access.

We laughed together about automated processes.

Thanks again,

BD

Silver VGW means having to provide id again isn't it.
I am surprised VGW and QCC have access to Aust passport details!
I once typed my name into one of them wrongly and it wouldn't accept it.
Can't remember if its VA or QF.

anyone know if standard non Velocity FF J class pax are allowed guests? does this change if you are Silver or Red and in J? curious, as a mate of mine is traveling soon in J and would like to bring his friend in the lounge. she is in Y.

Virgin Australia charges $65 an entry by credit card.
Not bad compared to QFF where no single entry can be bought, apart from flying QF J class.

WethereX, get your friend to join VA VR.
It's free after all.
And VR Member flying J class will hold more clout than non member flying J .
