Hi Guys and girls.... hope your might be able to help me with a little information...

Currently Im gold with velocity and am going to be super close to maintaining it.

My question is, Im set to travel on the day that my account states is the Review Date, will these points that might take a couple of days to come across to my account help me maintain my level or do the point need to be in the account before that date, ie travel needs to be done a few days before that...

Status is (should be) calculated based on the date of travel not on the date when things post.

While that is correct, my expirence is that the Velocity system may not recognise that the OPs travel was done on the requal date. This happened to me in 2012. I needed 40 SC to make Plat however the flights in question where with DL and it took a week to post. As a result, the SC counted to my new year and not the one I wanted to bump me up.

A phone call to the Plat line fixed it and they back dated the SC.

Just call them up (i'd say before your travel) ,and confirm if travel you make on your review date counts towards this current year. If the answer is yes, you're sweet. (And if they consequently stuff it up - just phone them again like Kaelo did above).
If no, start planning a status run my friend.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Do a quick trip to NZ with (Air) NZ or with VA, even an overweekender. It would be horrible to find out after the trip, or during, that you have dropped down a notch... I would be livid.
They say they keep track daily, if you believe the blurb on their website, for me points and SC appear in my Velocity account a few days after the NZ/VA flight that I have taken in the past.
QF does move points to accounts fast.

I think this is it! IIRC VFF has stated previously that if someones status is adversely effected due to the time taken to create SCs, then they'll fix the problem in favour of the status member.

VFF has also stated (IIRC) that the delay in the members time under review, is not because the VFF computer system is useless, but more to give time for those wayward SCs to land so they specifically don't disadvantage the member....and if you believe that crock, you no doubt also listen to the pixies at the bottom of the garden! ;)

Hypothetical situation here... What happens if you get sent both a gold and silver card with the same expiry? But your online account only shows silver? Purely hypothetical..

Purely hypothetical......?? I'd say it's of limited value in AU as they use the computer. OS may have some real benefit though! (Purely hypothetical..)
