The app has been in use over a year now, if you talk to the CSM in the galley when it's quiet they will usually show it to you. Has all the info as mentioned in the thread already and a few other things as well, eg: net promoter score, connecting flights, recent issues or requests. It also showed a Wii like cartoon of each passenger showing hair colour etc to help them recognise you. I always like to spy the summary saying how many VIP/CL/WP/SQ etc are on board - gives me an idea how far away from an opup I would be!

I have been getting a lot of "hope to see you again very soon"s and "looking forward to flying with you next time"s when disembarking from a one way fare booking (when my next or return sector is with Virgin), as opposed to the more general "thanks", "good night",etc on standard return bookings.

Moving back to the topic, I wonder if RedRoo can organise a message to be placed on the iPad for my mother's next trip, as she will be traveling for her 50th bday.
 
Someone had a quote from the thread you mentioned and it has carried the title over to this thread.

When someone replies to it, the title is carried over.

I have replied to a post before the title changed to fix it up.

I haven't flown QF in a good year but they were using it on every flight back then.

Next time will totally dye my hair and wear glasses.

I'm sure it certainly helps to pick out elite pax in a Y cabin but prefer things done the old way up front.

That's a good idea... I would be stoked if RedRoo could arrange for my soon to be wife to be addressed by my surname on our honeymoon flight to the US in August (her boarding pass will have her maiden name but she has spent the past six months practising signing her new name)

This thread reminded me that on a recent flight the CSM actually knew what my occupation is. I didn't mind, but I thought that was a bit odd. Luckily I'm not in the adult entertainment industry:D

When I got a callback from Qantas customer service some years ago, after dealing with the issue I had emailed about, he said "I see you work for _____ ... can I ask you something ?" And proceeded to ask my professional opinion on a private matter he had.

It's ok I asked for "His eminence" and failing that "Big Kahuna" so let's see how that works.

In all seriousness on today's flight to ADL as I was leaving the CSM addressed my by name even though we didn't speak on the flight.

What is net promoter score?
 
Wonder if I could make my request to them really simple ... "bring Champagne and keep it coming"
 
What is net promoter score?
Net Promoter Score (NPS) is a widely used term that ranks how well an organisation is doing in respects to customer satisfaction. Simply put, you get feedback from customers, subtract the detractors from the promoters (discard the middle apathetic (e.g. Those who rank something between 4-6 on a scale of 1-10) and get a score (as a percent). The higher the NPS the better your customers are feeling. The general question asked in an NPS survey is "how likely are you to recommend xx_x(QF) to a friend/colleague".
If QF is using NPS and AFF wanted to affect an outcome, if everyone who gets surveyed concentrated in ranking one thing poorly for the same reason, this could impact NPS significantly enough for change to occur.
 
Might explain why I got a "Happy Birthday" on leaving the aircraft and I thought it was a case of mistaken identity - my Birthday was in 10 days time on the 17th not 7th.
Maybe they looked and saw the 17/04 and mistook it for 7/04 - the day of travel.
 
Gotta say my rankings in the 4-6 range are anything but apathetic.

From your perspective sure, but from a NPS perspective it's a not good, not bad score. If you want to something to even be read, it must not be in the zone of "meh" but positively or negatively impact NPS. It is no longer averages across the entire sample. The middle is discarded.

Sure. It is just a matter of interpretation of the question. If I give a 5 to a question that asks 'how likely am I to recommend', that means I am equally likely to recommend another airline. Seems to suggest marketers are asking the wrong question.

Anyway, I'll take on your advice for future surveys.
