** This is just a heads-up. No action is required at the moment **

We will be changing the domain name of this website from frequentflyer.com.au to australianfrequentflyer.com.au. The change over will be staged, and for at least 6 months you will be able to access the website using either frequentflyer.com.au or australianfrequentflyer.com.au.

Once we have made the change, you will need to access the site using the new domain name and change your Favourites/Bookmarks in your browser. Otherwise, no other impact is expected. No action is required now.

Proposed Timeline
1. Set up australianfrequentflyer.com.au, with a re-direct to frequentflyer.com.au (Done)
2. Move AFF to australianfrequentflyer.com.au. Re-direct frequentflyer.com.au to australianfrequentflyer.com.au (mid August)
3. Remove re-directs (Early 2011)

How does this impact me?
Hopefully, not very much. After the change, you will need to enter the new URL (ie. australianfrequentflyer.com.au) to access the website. Once you are on the site, all internal links will work as before. There will be no changes to your username, password, post-counts, paid-member status etc etc. All that changes is the URL.

How will I know when the change takes place?
We will put up a notice 1 day prior to the change and keep the notice up for 7 days after the change.

What do I need to do before the change?
Nothing.

What do I need to do after the change?
Access the website by entering australianfrequentflyer.com.au rather than frequentflyer.com.au. Most of our members have the site bookmarked. If you have the site bookmarked, just change your bookmark to the new name. For example, if you have bookmarked frequentflyer.com.au/community, change this to australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community

What will happen if I continue to use the old domain name after the change?
For at least 6 months we will redirect frequentflyer.com.au pages to the corresponding australianfrequentflyer.com.au page.

After 6 months or so, you will need to enter the new domain name (australianfrequentflyer.com.au) to access AFF.

Why are we making the change?
We think australianfrequentflyer.com.au better reflects the nature of our community, which is called “The Australian Frequent Flyer” and usually referred to as “AFF”.

Further questions?
Please PM me (admin) if you have any questions.

Apologies for any inconvenience (however minor!)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

We have successfully completed the first two tasks in the timeline described above. Most of the issues have been resolved. We are aware that the Search Function is not working properly yet, but this should be fixed soon.

So the official domain name of Australian Frequent Flyer is now australianfrequentflyer.com.au.

You can now safely change any bookmark you have to the new name. For example, if you have bookmarked frequentflyer.com.au/community, please change it to australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community.

As mentioned earlier we will redirect frequentflyer.com.au pages to the corresponding australianfrequentflyer.com.au page for at least 6 months. You will therefore be able to access the site using either name.

Again, thanks for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience.
