SF doesn't deserve credit. It's a scum website.

The deal was on FlyerTalk and the blogs at least two days ago - which, I suspect, is where SF got it from.

Cost and value aren't the same thing, fortunately and there is the "local airline" tax. If you're flying to the uk a lot why not buy a one way then reverse the return trip?

Only if you know your future dates a long time in advance, which isn't me.

If you fly the A380 KUL<>LHR MH 1/2/3/4 then you get great lie flat seats.

All MH J flights to / from Europe are classed as Flex Y according to QF (happened during one of the great FF 'enhancement' reviews) so only 80 SCs each way.

If you fly the A380 KULLHR MH 1/2/3/4 then you get great lie flat seats.

IIRC, the A330s operating all flights to/from Australia , including PER-KUL flights, have been upgraded to lie flat seats too. So expect lie flat all the way. Low chance of angled flat and unless PER flight gets downgauged to 737, no chance of recliner seat.

New upgrade then?! Good to know, as I like the satay they serve (all airline food is rubbish or boring to me even in business, so having satay on MH is soooo exciting)

When I flew J with them in November they had the lie flat on the A380 (but I was disappointed with the poor quality panels in the TVs). The A330 KUL-PER I think was angled flat rather than totally flat but I almost missed the connection (my bags did), I was quite tired and actually spent the flight sleeping rather than noticing the quality of the bed, ironically.
Most of the intra-south east Asia flights with them seem to be on narrowbody jets which have 'Qantas domestic style' J seats, although 4 rows rather than 3 and I think the pitch was a little greater.
