I have been looking for a cheap one way fare back to MEL after a JASA run to SIN, and ended up booking on EY with the routing KUL-AUH-BNE-MEL for MYR 1,527 (around AUD 500). I didn't mind the detour as I have a friend in AUH and also know an AFF member who is going to be there around the same time for the Grand Prix (you know who you are!). A search some weeks back even had fares ex-JHB (across the causeway from SIN) as low as MYR 1,327 (around AUD 450) with a domestic connection to KUL on MH and then the non-stop flight from AUH to MEL...

How was it booked given EY won't allow the pairing online?

Edit - Worked it out using multicity! Love the fare code : VLOWMY

According to GCmap.com it's 10708 miles for KUL-AUH-MEL

So by my calculations:

0.5/mile on Discount Y = 5354

WP Bonus + 50% of base = 2677

Promo bonus of double miles = 10708

Total = 18739 miles

Please correct me if im wrong :)

Depending upon the day, you might fly the KUL-AUH leg on Virgin Australia metal.

When I was searching for the flights on the EY website, there was a note that EY 413 on Friday morning is operated by a leased 9W aircraft with EY crew.

Is it Y Or J?

I booked Y but have just been upgraded at the gate to J as the sector KUL-AUH is overbooked... All this for A$500!

Trying to convince myself KUL-AUH-MEL in Y is not *that* bad...

The $1600 J fares that have been mentioned what dates are they around? Tried looking around for a Sunday departure via AUH and it was around the 2.2k
