ticketing from overseas sites

hmm i cant believe i cant seem to find another thread about this (other than in relation to a somewhat different query related to a BKK ticketing problem, and AA xONEx's), but is it possible to buy a ticket from an overseas qantas site? (eg, NRT>BNE via their japanese site, SIN>FRA, via their singapore site ... etc) -- my initial thought would be yes if fairly straightforward ...?

Yes, you can buy a ticket from an overseas Qantas site, though quite often you'll have to present the CC you paid with online, at the airport when you check-in, for security. So watch out for that.

While it's not the most 'overseas' of overseas sites, I have bought many tickets from the QF NZ site without issue (and with no special requirements)

I've travelled SIN-LHR and return on a ticket bought from the Qan SIN site. And on Monday will be travelling LHR-SYD on a ticket bought on the UK site - so yes, most definitely you can!

Bought NRT-PER a few years ago, no issues.

The only one to be wary of that I know of is ex-BKK ; if unable to present the C/C used to book to their office in Thailand within a few days, the ticket will be cancelled. The message is very clear when booking for this one, however.

Has anyone bought a 1 way LAX to MEL/SYD/BNE from the US site? Considering this for my next trip given some of their sale faires are rediculously cheap even after conversion. Any issues with this e.g. US security...

So long as there's proof of onward travel I don't see any issues.

I routinely book one ways ex LAX.. Never had any problems at all...

That is on NZ admittedly but the principle no doubt holds!
