I took the 28degrees Mastercard and a NAB Visa Debit card to Singapore, Dubai, Europe and England over Christmas. Both worked very well. The NAB card was especially convenient as my husband could transfer funds into the account and the funds would be available almost instantaneously.

Thank you all. Not being a NAB customer (I know that's not essential), I've applied for a 28 degrees card based on this updated feedback. I was amused that the "60 second" answer to get approval reverted to a "5 to 10 days response" for what would reasonably be considered an extremely low risk applicant. Not sure what position one would have to be in to qualify for an immediate approval? Maybe I should have increased the limit. Never mind, no hurry.

Just like to add that I find ING Direct an absolute pleasure to deal with, I was wanting to setup a term deposit (their 3 month term rate is not too bad for such a short period of time) and was unable to because it had my old AU mobile number registered to it which no longer works. Anyway they don't support using an international number for the SMS code, no big deal so they're going to send me out a token. In total to process that, setup the new account, etc. took a touch under 10 minutes and even better was the lady was very easy to understand and there was no miscommunication. Given it's out of business hours in Australia, that's fantastic! I was expecting an Indian call centre. 2 thumbs up!
