NOTICE: Qantas and QantasLink Domestic Fare Increases
As a valued client, we would like to advise you of increases to Qantas domestic economy and business class fares effective for sale and travel on or after 3 September 2009.

Economy and Business Class fares will increase by an average of 2% across the Qantas Domestic network.

In addition, QantasLink fares will increase across the majority of routes for sale and travel on or after 3 September 2009. The fare increase varies across fare types and markets, for full details check fare displays.

Qantas regularly reviews network price points taking into account market and business performance. Their Business, Fully Flexible and Flex Saver base fares have not increased on most markets in over twelve months.

All existing bookings must be ticketed on or before 2 September 2009 otherwise theincreased fares will apply.

    And that is not all.

NOTICE: Domestic Change Fees from Qantas
As a valued client, we would like to advise you of adjustments to Qantas Change Fee levels for Domestic fares.
Fees are being increased as follows:
Red e-Deal from A$44 to A$50 change fee
Super Saver from A$44 to A$50 change fee
The new fee level applies to changes made to all Red e-Deal and Super Saver fares where the changed ticket is issued on/after 01 September 2009. Tickets changed prior to 01 September will not be subject to the new fee levels.

You never know what is around the corner.

Could be, could be. I just purchased a Syd/Mel return for the 16th for less than $200 on Virgin whereas the equivalent Qantas fare is $330. My fudge factor doesn't quite cover that big a stretch under the company BFOD policy!

We have all been caught out - and I don't want to be picky - but, it should be 'their' and not 'there.

And it should be "'there'" and not "'there", but if we continue down this path we will wake up Apostrophe Man and we will never here the end of it!

Our company TA advised us DJ silently rolled out fare increases on most routes yesterday .Her advise was that because they don't load specific corp fares like QF they give no notice of changes whereas QF usually give a weeks warning.

Well the QF price hike was short lived... prices are back to pre-sale in August. Or at least, some are.

Funny that they followed QF (and out of choice too) and yet QF cops all the slack from the public and the media.

What routes moved to pre-August levels?

The only pre Aug price as mentioned appears to be SYDMEL and ADLASP (both which TT are on Sale).
Given both airlines effectively lost money in the 2nd half of the year...if 1 moves north in price to stem the red the other would jump willingly, all about not being the leader(plus hoping they dont turn off the demand tap with he rises)
