I've been hearing about these mystery flights... are they still a reality?
Seems like a cool way to spend a weekend!

Mystery Flights Australia - Bookings & Gift Certificates - (02) 9971 4922 - A company that specialises in creating Mystery Flight packages. (IMHO, you're really just paying for someone to book a random flight and produce some pretty documentation around it!)
Or - if in Melbourne:
Qantas have a 'mystery flight' ex-Melbourne available on Good Friday in support of the RCH Melbourne

Apart from those two, I don't know of any other mystery flight options within Australia.
Ah, this brings back good memories. My very first flight was a mystery flight; and in fact I still have the paper ticket and boarding passes...
And tell us the results?
I can remember a work colleague who was going from syd-per for a week on the Monday morning.
He went on a mystery flight on the Sunday and wouldn't you know, ended up in Perth.
So he cancelled the first leg as he was already there!
Are there web sites in Australia that post mistake fares or super cheap last minute fares?
Something like the FlyerTalk mileage run forum... but would include DJ, Tiger and Jet*?
This would be especially good for me as I can't really plan too far ahead for my stay in Australia because I simply don't know where I'll be four months from now... but get super bored on the weekends and wouldn't mind for a quick getaway if the price is right... i.e. my recent $50 SYD-CHC each way booking... that was the cheapest I could find so I jumped on it, even though the taxes killed the deal, but at the same time I'm glad I'm going to New Zealand because if I wait too long I won't be able to squeeze it in my schedule while I'm in Australia.
I still want to see Cairns, Darwin, Perth, Hobart... and even some of the neighboring islands (especially New Caledonia) but don't really want to pay top dollar to go for a weekend.
thanks,

I thought the "real" mystery flights were an Ansett thing, and they died with Ansett.
I would take mystery flights if the red roo organised them, wouldn't be bothered if they were J*, DJ or Tiger metal
