    Extra guests into QP

Has anyone tried successfully to take an extra guest or two into a QP?

When my brother was QFF SG, he managed twice in a row to take 3 guests into the QP - once at Sydney T3 and again at Melbourne T1.

At Sydney he simply asked if he could take his family in and the CSR quickly and inconspicuously replied "Yeah you're right." I was surprised that it was allowed as it was a crowded Thursday evening.

At Melbourne it was a quiet Sunday afternoon. He explained that the four of us were travelling together and asked if it would be ok to admit the two extra guests. The CSR asked what time our flight was, and said that she would allow it this time but in future only one guest would be allowed as they were undergoing renovations (though it was almost empty inside).

Is there some sort of trick to pleading with the QP CSRs or is it just luck of the draw?

It is luck of the draw. You know the rules, as do they. If they say no, you have no come back.

Agreed, No tricks just smile and ask nicely. Generally works with most QPs, but not tried it in Adelaide (where there is a big sign saying one guest only.

PB was myself, Mrs Tooner, Sister, daughter, son and nephew all into temporary F lounge a while ago.

I haven't done this myself (so don't shoot me down) ... but some people have succeeded in getting additional friends into the domestic QCs by printing multiple copies of their FF Gold boarding pass and giving it to their friends, and then walking in seperate groups of two. Could be risky if the QC staff are checking cards as well as boarding passes, but I must admit it has been a long time since I have had to show my card.

Generally no probs with family in Australia ...think Qf realise that if [dad ]is away on business a lot then this is one way for family to get benefit

also most kids are well behaved
only costs QF $ 3 for some soft drink and a few biscuits

American Admiral club ok , but not as good as Qf

Dont try BA heathrow , easier to get into Buckingham Palace

I wonder if these BA staff who rejected our family now are having 2nd thoughts as they work for free for this month
we went Finnair instaed after our last rejection , much friendlier

Talking to QF on the phone, before +1 got QP, there is an informal family clause.. Family=ok...
    but it is informal...

Now we have two QP and only one NB (who is 4 so it would be very impressive if she could guest us!!)

I think that's a little unfair, they are just doing their job and following the published rules.

I've generally found asking nicely gets you places.

In Perth once they allowed us to bring my partners mum in. There was already my daughter and my partner.

In Adelaide I had a stopover back to Melbourne and my mate met me for a few drinks (he lives right near the airport). Anyway i asked if his wife and son could join us and he said no worries at all (there was only about 7 of is in the QP)

In Beijing i got about 4 people into the lounge there..

I've been knocked back in perth before too.

I think it just depends on you luck on the day
