    Hi All,

My first post here. A question on Alaskan lounge access in Portland, Or. The precis is i'm QP member SG status flying PDX-LAX AA coded flight with AS. I got one of the YUP fares into A.

What do you think the likelihood of lounge access is?

    Cheers,

    John

    John Reid,

    Welcome to AFF.

I believe you will get access as you are travelling in 'A' rather than because of your Qantas status. Last year we got access in SEA in a similar situation without issue. I was QF Gold at the time.
    cheers,
    Bill.

    Hey thanks Bill,

Was hoping that was the case. All the reading of the ins and outs kinda led me to that conclusion.

    Cheers,

    John

"A" will not get you into the Boardroom - "F" is required; SG might however, or simple luck.

From what the Boardroom in SEA told me, it's Full "f" as serfty says, and you'd get access via QF if you were on a QF flight number and had QP/SG/WP. "A" or "P" does not gain access.

Never hurts to ask nicely though

Is it an AS flight booked on the AA code? If so, chances are good it's full F anyway -- I'd be double-checking the booking.

As I said with the same situation and same status yhere was no issue last year. We simply showed our boarding passes and there was no query about whether it was booked as A or F and to be honest I cannot remember.
    cheers,
    Bill.

Methinks you'll find it was full F; as were similar journeys I took earlier this year.

However, every booking can be different and true FFer's always double check the booking class.

Hope you get access! In May I flew Alaskan from Vancouver - seattle - Anchorage to fairbanks and presented my QP card and boarding pass at Vancouver - I got access there ok but while waiting at Seattle and Anchorage I was denied access each time. I was told that Qantas only had arrangements at international ports for its members to have lounge access.
Reading from the Qantas Website gets very confusing as Alaska Air are an International Airline Partner rather than a OW partner. I think I may have had better success if I had still been Gold rather than QP and Silver.

I'll be doing another test this Saturday as I fly to Boise - QF to LAX then QF / AS Codeshare to Boise. The flight from LAX leaves from T3 so I'm not sure if I'll have access to the Alaskan lounge in T3
