How to Get a Qantas Comfort Row
If you're stuck in Economy on a long overnight flight, there's not much better than getting a whole row of seats to yourself.

Did you know that, on one Qantas flight, the airline will actually sell you the remaining seats in your row for a small fee? It's much more cost-effective than upgrading to Premium Economy or Business, and you'll get a lie-flat bed in Economy class.

The Dumbest Travel Mistake I've Ever Made
Earlier this week, I made what is quite possibly the stupidest travel mistake I've ever made. After 472 commercial flights, it finally happened... I left my passport on the plane. Normally after losing your passport you'd realise fairly quickly. But by the time I realised, three hours had passed and the plane had already operated another flight. I had placed my passport in the seat pocket in front of me when boarding more...
Etihad Charging for Snacks in Economy
Etihad Airways has been on a relentless cost-cutting drive lately. The airline has already axed unprofitable routes (like Perth-Abu Dhabi), cut back its chauffeur drive service, reduced Business class amenities and introduced fares that exclude checked baggage. Now, the latest victim of Etihad's cost-cutting is its Economy class catering. Etihad recently announced new "enhanced" Economy class meals more...

Upcoming Webinar:
Star Alliance for Australians
  webinar
LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER!

For Australian frequent flyers, Star Alliance offers an excellent alternative to Virgin Australia, Qantas and the Oneworld alliance.

Star Alliance typically has far better award availability than Oneworld airlines on flights to and from Australia. This is matched by some extremely competitive award pricing with many Star Alliance frequent flyer programs. And it's not difficult to earn points and miles with Star Alliance airlines in Australia, including from credit cards and sign-up bonuses.

It's also surprisingly easy to earn Star Alliance status! Multiple Star Alliance programs offer free status matches, and several programs make it extremely easy to earn and maintain status from scratch. Some Star Alliance airlines also partner with Virgin Australia, meaning you can use your status benefits and redeem miles domestically as well.

The upcoming Frequent Flyer Solutions webinar will show you exactly which Star Alliance programs to join and how you can maximise the benefits. Be sure to join Matt at 8pm (AEST) on Wednesday, 29 May 2019 to learn more!

Qantas, Air NZ Lounge Access Explained
In October 2018, Qantas and Air New Zealand launched an unlikely new codeshare agreement. Air New Zealand began code-sharing on Qantas domestic routes, and Qantas in turn placed its "QF" code on many Air New Zealand domestic flights. The agreement between Qantas and Air New Zealand means that frequent flyers can earn points and receive other benefits when flying on codeshare services operated by the other airline. But how exactly more...
