Allowing for everything what is the best city to buy Georg Jensen jewellery in the world?

Melbourne on specials of course

Have you got a contact in Melbourne?
I have a load of $100 vouchers that will expire on 31st December so naturally I am hoping that Australia might be an answer. I am looking at a bracelet that is on a billboard near Sydney airport.
The item is called Fusion which is something that I would prefer did not melt my credit card despite it's name.

I purchased a 3 piece fusion ring several years ago in Perth. I phoned the Sydney dealer prior to this to see what their best price would be and it was explained to me that Jensen agents are not permitted to move on the list price. This was confirmed by other dealers.

So I think you will find not a great deal in price differences around the world not withstanding huge currency flucuations.

Ouch Meloz my credit card thinks it is melting!
Better to ask than paying a list price without asking!

I picked up my Fusion Ring (3pc) in Perth as well. Checking out the Georg Jensen site - Fusion - Jewellery - , the same ring hasn't changed in price at all (in AU), but buying it from the US would save me $500, and from the EU a whopping $1100!

Got anyone travelling there soon? Know where I'd be picking it up from. . . . .

Are you allowing for EU VAT and AUS GST in your numbers?

I think Oregon has no State taxes so that probably works out pretty good. I get sticker shock when I see taxes of 20% or more in Europe and I can feel my credit card groan.

Last time I picked up a Tag in the EU, I got it DF - no VAT so it was most definitely cheaper.

Not sure how the GST is applied on declared goods, but even if you declared the GJ piece on arrival back in AU (as a side note, how many people actually do declare jewellery purchased OS?) would it amount to the $1100 price difference? Plus, if you were travelling as a couple/family, adding your allowance together, you probably wouldn't be paying anyway. . . . .

Maybe I am an orphan because we do import/export so the idea of running the gauntlet on unpaid duty /GST into Australia is something we cannot do.
Getting hundreds of shipments red lined would be too painful to bear.
Thanks for getting me to do "change country" as that is interesting.
That Fusion bracelet is quite a lovely piece of jewellery.

IF you have any Georg Jensen $100 vouchers left over from your Qantas First Class travel packs be aware that the expiry is 31st December this year so in 26 plus days they will be dust.
Mine are used up now.

 Thanks cove, totally missed this. Going off to search for my stash now
