On QF694 and tonight's dinner was a spicy chicken with aromatic rice.

It was mentioned in the December 2013/January 2014 "Lift" mag that the summer menu would run from 11 December to 11 March, so it looks like the changeover has happened right on schedule. I don't have access to the latest Lift, but the Christmas edition mentioned what the summer choices would be, so I'd expect the latest edition to give all the choices for the next few months too.

Having endured the minimalist offerings of the box through Summer, what stood out on the tray was the water.

Crispello, no thanks - but I'm sure MrsBD would approve.
Bread Roll, I missed.
Water, I've got used to requesting with the wine.

If QF want to reduce costs, make water a request from the drinks rather than a tray inclusion. (if they're recycled off the trays, I don't want to know!!)

Good news!

Coming into Winter, the nights are getting colder in MEL, it's nice to have a decent meal on the plane

Yes have water on request, and that can come from a large bottle of water, which is surely cheaper than all those small bottles of water they hand out

I don't disagree with that, having the tray in your way long after eating is a pain for sure.

Had the same meal as boomy ex-BNE on Friday night.

The chicken was OK. I love risone so that was huge bonus.

Not to mention that Italian chicken and risone were available in BNE lounge on Friday abd Sunday and I am a happy man.
