WP QC - extra guest?

Hi everyone

Long time lurker - first post.

I'm flying into OOL (with Qantas) and then meeting family there for an onward international AirAsia flight. I'll be meeting three people. I know I can access the QC on arrival and take in 2 guests as a WP - what are the chances I'll be allowed to bring an extra guest in?

Also, how long before the flight should we be heading through international security?

It would not hurt to ask about brining an extra guest into the Qantas lounge. The request will depend on who is at the desk and how full the lounge is at the time.

Welcome aboard Ms_KH, ask quietly and politely and don't be upset when declined. OOL is also a major JQ lounge and they are generally sticklers for the rules.

I regularly see people being denied at the OOL QC when trying to bring extra guests in but this is normally when the lounge is quite full but it can't hurt to ask. If you are on the air asia flight then this is the peak time of day for international departures and it is quite common to take 45 minutes to an hour to clear screening, customs, etc once you are in the food court area so keep that in mind and give yourself plenty of time. There is a cafe and some duty free stores within the international terminal but not much else.

Sorry to be a spoilsport but given you are arriiving into OOL and then later conecting on to an Air Asia flight, on what basis will you be entitled to entry inot the QC? I have always been under the impression it was a departure lounge rather than an arrivales lounge?

I always enjoy this when you are expecting dinner on a dinner time DOM flight and instead get a snack! Tends to happen to/from QLD during daylight savings time shift. Hunger sated by after flight lounge stew.
