The registration panel asks "Where do you intend to stay", and then asks you to chose from a list of hotel brands. I have no idea which hotel brands we'll stay in. I have no idea which of the hotel chains operate in the places I'm flying to. Which prompts me to ask "Does this promo only deliver double points if I stay at the one brand of hotel?"

Well I guess it would only offer double points for the hotels that are part of the promo. I'm not very familiar with the various hotel brands, but I do believe that the various promo hotels are linked together somehow. If only because they are velocity partners.

I would also note that intention does not have to translate into action.

Fiji Resort and Spa by Hilton was very generous with me.

After using an Expedia UK promo to take 40 GBP off the delux room rate, which brought the price down to under $100 USD a night... I received 1,000 Velocity points which I believe I was ineligible for (since I booked thru Expedia)
