I know there are a few threads skirting this, & lounge experiences abound..Noticed hasn't been done for a while..& food quality can very enormously over time..
However just reading a skyscanner review about Turkish Airlines taking out the gong for best inflight food...
In my case I have some distinct memories from certain flights by the wonderful food served, in all classes over the years..
So.. let's hear it from our home grown network.. Over to you..

I have had very good food and not so good food offered by SQ. I think its more to do with local cuisine of the origin of the flight that makes the difference.

I still cannot fault QF food. Best out there by far, although i have not flown SQ or EK in First yet!

SQ is your grandmothers cooking....lots of it, can't really fault it, NP does add some value at the premium level in the ideas department.

My last F flight was served with say, Confit Duck Cassoulet with White Beans and Cotechino Sausage washed down with a 2005 Henschke Keyneton Estate Euphonium Shiraz Cabernet......i mean this is better than what i eat on the ground (most of the time!)

Havent times changed.

Here's an example of Qantas J food served a week ago. This was a starter - Seared Tuna Nicoise Salad. It was very good.

This image is from EK F somewhere between SYD and DXB. I have only flown F on EK and QF and in my opinion EK wipes the floor with QF in the food and beverage department. I also flew SQ J for the first time last month and I thought the food was a good deal better than QF. I don't think it's just about the complexity of the menu but, for me at least, the presentation, crockery, table setting, etc, are all factors that add up to create a good experience.

That is impressive!

I think, and although it's a small thing... the Qantas J-Class international salt and pepper "container" is soo economy class! It so spoils the appearance of the meal. What was Qantas thinking?

For economy, MH is very, very good. Even on short international flights I've quite often gotten 3x ferrero rocher for dessert!!

JohnK might be in trouble though because it's generally some variety of curry for the main :) My favourite one was a chicken redang with pancakes.

Some recent in SQ J BNE/SIN & SIN/CAN

MH has gone downhill with its Y catering over the last 5 years.

The Western breakfast has not changed, and there is not much alternative.

Heck I remember the first time flying them 5 yrs ago having a prawn coughtail in Y. Those days are long gone.

Impressed +1.. Was that the entree or main?

Just a starter. EK did a 5-course thing the last time I was on it (like the way QF does a degustation in F) - canapés to begin followed by a soup or, in this case, a mezze plate, then entree, main, desert and cheese. Also I was wrong - it wasn't SYD-DXB as that's a night flight. Rather it was DXB-LHR. Let me know if you want more pics. ;)

This is a TK Y meal we had a few months ago on a BUD-IST flight. It was grilled chicken with rice, vegetables and some type of cake. I took a couple of bites and my eating ended there ;) (sorry for the iPhone4 photo quality)

I have had the seared tuna in the past and I agree it is a very good dish. Then again, you couldn't really get this dish wrong ;)

For the presentation award, you cannot beat LH F. This is our hors d'oeuvre course ;)

Dragonair remains my favourite for Y catering - nice big portions of delicious Chinese dishes and Haagen Daaz ice cream. They even obliged when asked if any spare mains were left over.

I travel fortnightly mainly within asia or back to australia and have been on most of the airlines, Sing, MAS, Cathay, Thai QF , Etihad and for business class lounges especially within Australia the food in the Emirates lounges is un paralleled. The onboard meals are pretty good too. Singapore and KL Emirates lounges are fantastic as is the Melbourne and Brisbane Emirates lounges in fact i prefer them to the Dubai lounges. Flying QF is like going to Macdonalds compared to a 5 star restaurant on Emirates. (Try the food selection in singapore QF business class lounge, woefull) But thats just my opinion remember so please everybody dont get angry as we all have our own favourite airlines.
