When to book

I wish to book HI Cairns in early March. Advice appreciated on best method.

1. Now $135 (seems no different for either best avail, AA rate or G'ovt rate. Is there a trick to this?????) + apply PP $50 discount certificate

2. Now $135 and keep $50 certificate for 'ron (not sure why I'd do this)

3. Wait for cheaper on-line rate.....may or may not happen.

4. Wait for PP newsletter discounts for March and hope it works favourably.

5. Some other method?

Look at the family and friends rate as a guide to possible best price keeping in mind no points etc, seeing around $122 for March, then make a call, with many local hotels I often see a downward move in the last 7 days. I suspect they will have a BOGO or 25% off offer no cert required, although Easter will make the possibility of month long specials being average,
