Sitting in the SIN FLounge and thinking how good it is when things go your way :) .

Arrived at the First check-in in MEL earlier this afternoon (or yesterday depending on where you are), and there was no queue, which was the first positive. Then was told I had been upgraded to F on QF9, my first opup now I am really happy :D. Express lane really was express and much quicker than other lanes, life is good. Got to the FLounge, went to the Spa and yes, I can book a massage, now we're really cooking. Feeling relaxed, with a glass of Veuve and a nice pinot on board, got on the aircraft and turned left to seat 4E, which is very comfortable. Flight was good, F is lovely, but don't think I would pay for it. Then, just to make the day better, when in the SIN Flounge, I learn QF5 is delayed by an hour. This would not normally be good news, but considering I had a 4.5 hour transit in FRA, prior to my LH flight to Bilbao, I am very happy to swap time spent in FRA LH Lounge for time in SIN FLounge.

It doesn't happen often, but it is good when things just go right .

Good to hear.... Isnt it amazing to hear stories like this when you normally hear disasters!

Enjoy your ride at the pointy end!

I am so pleased for you :p

That is a nice op-up - looks like the revenue management guys maxed out their J revenue :)

Nice work...

Don't forget to buy a lottery ticket after your flight!

Thanks for the sentiments guys. Now of course, I'll be hoping I can get a repeat of the good fortune on the SIN-MEL leg on QF10 on Friday. At that stage I will be dog tired after a hectic week and long flight from Bilbao, and would really appreciate the full flat bed. I am enough of a realist though to know it is very unlikely :(.
Still, it was great to finally luck into getting one.

Having been unfortunate enough to spend some quality time in LH's J Lounge in FRA, i'd certainly be overjoyed at swapping an hour there for an hour in the SIN F Lounge

Oh well, back to earth now it seems. Checked in for QF6 in FRA and was given the boarding pass for QF10 as well, and it is only J :( . Not that I expected anything different, just hoped.
Still good though, I have my trusty seat 16A for both flights. I didn't even lose my booked request once.
Another positive, they have simplified the security arrangements in T2 at FRA. They have removed the screening point prior to the CX lounge, it is now just a passport check. So there is only the one screening point prior to the gate. I never did understand why they needed 2.
So I am still seeing the positives on this trip :D .
