Does anyone have any suggestions when Qantas might run another double Status credit promotion in 2018 ??

The last two were around March IIRC, so I would expect one to appear around then. Then again, you need expect the unexpected with Qantas!

The "annual open to everyone offer" is usually around Feb or March, but we had a slightly more targetted offer in September this year.

Some but not everyone. Still didnt get a 50% promo and im sure by the time i get it it will be to late to use it.
Fingers crossed for another DSC early next year.

The one early in the year really was for everyone; sign up was open to all via the Qantas home page.

There was a 50% points but the 50% status credits have been targeted from what i recall. Obviously the DSC was open to everyone.

I bought a ticket in Sept and I think that was a general DSC offer? Could be wrong

September was targetted; the points offer at the same time was a general offer.

Understood. But then it makes the QF targetting algorithm very hard to fathom :) At that point I was a few SC short of retaining P1, but still with 4 mths to go.....

The next big QF promotion should be the 5 points/$ spent on gift vouchers promotion which normally starts around 01 December...

A couple of years ago QF was doubly generous with a 10 points per dollar spent. Looking forward to seeing what they have in store this year.

Can someone please change the subject of this forum - it's misleading. Maybe preface it with "speculation on ... " then this thread's title can be used when there's actually something for people to note.

OMG that subject HAS to change!!!

My take on ANY offer, let alone bonus SC's...

do NOT expect them then you won't be disappointed!! Just because QF did it last year and the year before does NOT mean they will do it next year, or that it will be around the same time.

Same with the Christmas vouchers offer (which used to be 10points/$ !) .... they probably will do it, but don't take it as a given.

Sure we all like to take advantage of these things, but I do not think one should base all travel or spend decisions around when these things may or may not show up. That way you can be happily surprised or at least not very disappointed.

Remember folks these offers are made for the benefit of QF.. not for ours (unless we find the best ways to make use of them, which many of us do :D )

My 2 cents.

mods.. please change the subject to more like "When might there be another DSC promo in 2018?"

the all caps can give people the very wrong idea IMHO

Got a double status offer this week domestic flights only.

I'm QF silver and have until the end of the week to plan out as much travel as i can for the first 6 months of the year.. Interesting I was searching flights to Mackay last week on both QF & VA sites.. which may have prompted the QF email..

Booked PER - SYD - BNE - MKY return for a nice earner..

Question for everyone through...?

If book flights for February / March now and have to move dates & maybe destinations around will the 50% more offer still apply.. ( I understand there may be fee's involved)

(probably not the right thread for this, but I'll respond anyway)

Is it Double (DSC) or +50%? not that the amount is terribly important, but you've said both. I'm going to guess +50% which is the usual targeted offer these days.

Anyway usually the conditions are going to be something like travel date related (eg: travel between X and Y). If you change dates and they fall still in the validity window then that should be fine. If you move outside it, all bets are off.

If you change destinations or routing that could absolutely result in a ticket reissue, which will generate a new PNR, which will invalidate the offer (iunless you do it within the next week or whenever your offer runs out).. so you really want to book it and be more or less certain on destination. Dates are easier as that is a revalidation, rather than a reissue.

good luck.
