Hi all,

I'm in Gladstone for a couple of days for work and will probably have some free time on the morning of the 8th (fly out at 1300). Is there anything to do in Gladstone for a morning?

Thanks.

Go crabbing. My uncle moved there to build the power stations and stayed a long time after they were built because he went fishing / crabbing.

Fishing & drinking is popular in Gladstone: not much else to do
Just have a long breakfast
Over the years have spent many a day/week/weekend in Gladstone for work

get an earlier flight out ... that's how I would spend a morning in Gladstone

Thanks guys. That time of the day is probably a bit early to start drinking, so might go with the long breakfast and trying for an earlier flight. But then I'll be stuck at bne airport, which might be worse than being stuck in Gladstone.

The lookout is interesting. Get to awe at the redness and size of the refining.

But yeah not much in town.

Well, a number of options depending on your interest/home location/type of work you are involved in.

Coffee at Lilac Lily's at Tannum Beach headland/walk along the beach
Morning tea at Gecko Valley winery
Free local industry tour booked through the tourist bureau
Morning harbour coffee cruise
Art Gallery has some major exhibition on at the moment
BYO morning tea at the marina/Spinnaker Park
Have coffee with me
Helicopter joy ride over the harbour

Thanks guys. I might take you up on the coffee Gladstonetim, I'll pm you later in the week when my schedule is more clear... Things are a little 'fluid' at the moment.
