What...No Lunch !!!!

Flew City Flier from Melbourne to Brisbane J Class at 12.05pm today and lunch was supposed to offered...All we were offered was fruit salad or ricotta pancakes...Is lunch not offered on the weekend ?...And no bar service either...If this is the standard then I will never fly business class on the weekends...Can any member enlighten me...Thanks in advance

QF616 is advertised as refreshment/lunch, so you've clear been offered the refreshment portion, but I'm not sure how or when you get the lunch portion?

AFAIK you should be able to have sparkling with even breakfast, so I'm not sure why you didn't have luck with a midday flight? Did you ask and were denied, or simply weren't offered?




I don't think they'll serve lunch until 12 anyway (in the lounge) and you should be onboard by then.

As for the drinks, if you want something, just ask. They probably didn't offer alcohol as it seems a little early still.

I've asked for bubbly with breakfast, instead of being offered, and I'm quite quiet IRL.




I asked for a vodka soda on an 8am (weekday) MEL-SYD - no problems with that and a refill offered shortly after

Had a call from a nice lady at Qantas this morning who said she would pass on my comments to catering but couldnt offer any reason why lunch was not offered on the 12.05 City Flyer from Melbourne to Brisbane...Guess its better to bring your own sandwich and fly Y

IME up front bar is always open and always has decent lunch offering

(did they not have wine bottles on the trolley?) also usually on the MEL - BNE sector they would do a drink run before the meal ....

If you’re talking about the reply being pretty pathetic, I’ve had a similar reply from Virgin when catering didn’t go as planned. Got nothing out of it but a 'we’ll look into it/pass on your concerns'. There’s nothing that can be done. Unless you received a Time-Turner from Minerva McGonagall…

Comment was aimed at the lack of service on the flight not the lady on the phone after the event - just lazy tagging on my account.
