What is the latest international flight internet booking anyone has done and departed on the same day

This is what I have done

Two weeks ago - booked SQ Y class one way ticket on a Thursday at 1.05pm and flown on the A380 flight SYD-SIN-DPS at 4.40pm. Got to airport at 2.20pm, queued for 45min and hand carry only. Also got upstairs Y class with no star alliance status.

A few years ago when lauda was flying SYD-KUL booked at 3pm and flew 5.30pm. Catch was that Lauda did not have a ticket machine at SYD, however, after I told them my colleague and I were happy to be offloaded and receive EUR 300 each plus a free ticket, they let us fly without the return ticket and issued us with boarding passes. On arrival in KUL no return ticket ready, but were not asked at immigration, Lauda said it was ok and that they had informed the Malaysian immigration. We got the ticket at airport on return flight. I doubt that they woudl have told malaysian immigration, they simply lied.

Have also done JQ at midday Friday and flown 5.35pm SYD-DPS flights.

Considering you can't book flights online soo close to departure, this would need to be @ the airport or via phone, yeah?

Not via internet, but have had a TA issue a ticket while I was waiting at the check-in desk. Reservation was made just before I left home, management approvals arranged while in the Taxi, and TA issued the ticket while I was on the phone and standing at the check-in desk.

And I left a note on the kitchen table reading something like: "Hi Honey. Gone to KL. Don't know when I'll be back. Flight leaves as 11:55. Call me at the airport when you get home."

I've done last minute domestic (booking stuff from the back of a cab on the way to the airport), but never international.

I've booked a 7:30pm flight at around 12:00-1:00pm on the same day before for an international flight. Ticketed within the hour.

Have also done many domestic at the airport whilst in a queue for check-in (pre-PS level).

Just out of curiosity guybaxy, why do you always book intl flights at the very last minute? Do you just love the adrenalin rush that comes with living on the edge?

depends on your industry and corp requirements. I know from mining there are time sensitive developments that require immediate onsite responses. Always have a bag packed and carry your passport are good rules here.

Cheers SPRUCE

Closest I've ever had to book online was an 11pm at night for a 6:15am departure next morning on EK PER-DBX-MAN.

Ticket was processed on the spot, and was even able to check him in as soon as the booking was complete and ticket issued.

Family member died around 6am, got the phonecall straight away. I was on the phone at 7.30am to the airlines. Was on a flight to the UK at 1.20pm. Picked up my ticket at the airport. No problems.
