Wendouree allocations and general discussion

My wines arrived this morning (card charged on the 10th). As many others have reported I have received everything i asked for except the Cab and Cab Malbec of which i received none. Still very happy with what i got.

I bewt you're right. It was a lean vintage all around though for the Clare. I spoke with them yesterday and everything is sold out bar the Shiraz Mataro. That is good though because it is my favourite wine from them :)
 
when i received my order form, my budget wasn't enough to order more then 6 of each,i wish i could order again to get more but wendouree not keen on second order attempts.

Agreed. I ordered 6 of each wine hoping to perhaps jag a bottle or two of the shiraz and Cab if there were any (was definitely not holding my breath). Had i known of the list all I would get would be the Shiraz Mataro, I'd likely have requested 12 rather than 6. Oh well, there is always next year.

your case might be a bit different to me, you can always include a note/letter when you return your order form,ask them to give you more whatever is lefted on their end. e.g i usually include a note and ask them to fill up the boxes if there's spaces left(because i already paid for the full postage anyway) and it did happened on my first order(2011 vintage), and i always received my full order nowadays.

Ahhh ok, well as a first time order, I wasn't wise to such things. My colleague also buys from Wendouree and has the signature on the order form (highest mark i believe?) and he was happy to trade me a Cabernet Malbec for a Shiraz Mataro even though he already had some. Good man.

This is my first time order Wendouree. As expected, by the time Lita called me to confirm the order, most of the wine were sold out except one variety. With all the excitement when Lita called, I thought I heard she mentioned Shiraz Malbec is the only wine left but reading from last few post here, it may be Shiraz Mataro. Well, whatever it's I am happy to get 12 this year and hope for a better allocation next year.

Take whatever you can get as a new customer is my advice. Wendouree reward loyalty. They keep a close record on those who only order the limited wines like the shiraz or who only order in the best years.
 
First timer. Sydney. Ordered a mixed dozen (no shiraz or cabernet). Had my credit card hit today for $314 which sounds like 6 bottles plus delivery. Now to wait and see what lands. Off the mark ...
 
Welcome aboard BBPP, waiting to see what arrives from Wendouree can be as exciting as waiting to open presents when you were a kid :)
 
Thanks Steady. I had almost given up hope. I sent in my order the day after it arrived and that was many weeks ago.

The only pity is that I am 41yo, and I should have done this a decade ago. I'll be in my 60s before anything from this producer is opened.

I'm only 30, I am doing what you should have :cool: sorry to rub it in. I dare say we both got the same thing. I only requested 6 of each, I wish I had done 12 of each. I guess that is the benefit of being in your 40's rather than 30's, more disposable income for wine!

More income in your 40s no doubt. Its disposability is the subject of some marital debate.

My 2017 motto is "What am I waiting for?"

That said, my wife made it clear she thought that was an unsatisfactory response to her query of why approx. $20K worth of wine had been bought this year.

My card also got charged for 12 bottles on Monday after talking to Lita on Friday. Looking forward to receive the 2 boxes tomorrow or Friday.
 
A bit off topic. Anyone here plan to order Mount Mary this year and come to pick up in October?
