Recently having a lot of trouble with on line check in. Last week tried to check in but couldn't do it on line, timing was going to be tight with checking in at the airport. The woman on the check in counter said you should of just rang and we can check you in over the phone. Today Its going to be tight again because I cant check in online once again. Its a real pain in the proverbial. Rang up and the woman said no one can check in over the phone. This happens all too frequently with Qantarse no one there knows what Qantarses procedures are, if Qantas staff don't know how are we suppose to know
 
Is there a reason as to why you can't check in online? Where was the booking made, and are there any flights on the booking that may cause the issue?

Also, did the check in agent refer to the normal QF phone number or the airport number?

Was able to check in via the iPhone app, the web site is pretty well useless in a lot of ways
 
Not sure if it is related but FWIW my son couldn't check-in online for a LHR flight a few weeks ago. Apparently he went into "seat selection" to see what was available but exited because he wasn't inclined to pay, but when he then went to check-in the box for it had disappeared. Even when he exited the system and logged in again there was no soft key for the online check-in. Maybe there's a glitch where the soft key for check-in disappears if you go into seat selection but don't actually select a seat once you realise you still have to pay for it even if it's within 24 hrs of departure?????
