A Qantas spokesman said the pilots were alerted by a flashing “warning light” on the dashboard about 5pm.

“The captain of today’s QF 1 from Sydney to Dubai decided to return to Sydney about an hour into the flight after a coughpit indicator light reported a fault with part of the system that helps regulate the cabin temperature,” he said.

So No-News reported a non story. Fancy that.

The Qantas Captain has acted with an abundance of caution to protect the safety of their crew and passengers. Some airlines need to be reminded that safety first is best practice, not an option.

Lots of AV geeks in Orange NSW got some great shots of low-flying Airbus dumping fuel. Was the talk of the town (yeah, it's pretty quiet here).

And no, sadly I wasn't aware it was happening. I know some people got some video, will try to find and post.
