I booked in Jan on the old points and pay a King Deluxe room for 3 nights, 75,000 points and 150 euros and thought I was lucky to have got it at that rate when they put the points up. I just went in to print out my documents and noticed they are having a 40% off promo atm and a King Room is now 198 euro's pre pay, but a points and pay is now 96,000 points but only 112 euros for the pay portion. I believe you don't get an upgrade as a Diamond to the Imperial Lounge, so i'm wondering, if I was to can the original booking which is not looking as the best option atm and go for the King room 40% off great getaway offer do you think it would offer me the email upgrade for an Imperial Room at a discount so I get the lounge access or should I just cancel the original booking, I'm thinking the 21,000 points and 114 euros might be the best deal and know it won't let me upgrade it to the Imperial Lounge unless I give them a stupid amount of points. I'm sure I read somewhere Diamonds didn't get lounge access but did get access to the pool/spa area which is extra for some guests but I can't find that either now anywhere on the site and my room selection is a King Deluxe and I believe that will have a Rome view but the straight King which is 198 euro's will not. Any suggestions from someone that has stayed and can work out what might happen with either of those room selections there would be appreciated. HG

Ok I took a punt, cancelled the original booking and decided to save the dollars, made the new one for more points but less euros and lo and behold this time the NOR1 upgrade came thru, so now i've got Imperal Lounge access hopefully for just slightly more than the original booking.... gotta be happy with that.

Great work - I stayed there in 2011 in a King Deluxe Rome View room for 225 euros & it was excellent. The staff are very friendly (I recommend getting tour advice from the concierge) and also both of the restaurants serve excellent food (the one on the roof requires you to dress for dinner - the one downstairs is just as good). Enjoy!

thanks, we head off tomorrow for 6 weeks and i'm managing to fit in the Singapore Conrad, upgrade to Exec Lounge King showing already, then the WA in Rome which i'm really looking forward to and then over to the Istanbul Hilton before heading off on a 22 night cruise of the Med. 12 months of planning and now I believe a glass of wine is in order. :p
