Hoping for some advice here on how to proceed.
I am flying from MNL-MEL shortly and as it's a business trip I have some schedule restrictions and need to book flights. In an ideal world I would book a mixed class J/R redemption (if they're still going through) but the R flight is showing waitlist. I can live with J anyway, so I'm planning to lock in the whole itinerary as reward J. My question is, can I waitlist the 2nd leg R (SIN-MEL) and if it's successful, upgrade to mixed class for the whole trip? Or is it somehow possible to waitlist the whole mixed class reward (MNL-MEL)?? Or even more crazy, if the 2nd leg releases after I've completed the first leg, can I take it up???
