Hi there. Couple of quick queries re waitlisting and flights. Looking at redeeming 4 J tickets MLB-Tokyo in about 7 months. Can get redemptions ok on outbound leg but waitlist on return. Questions re waitlist. Am I better to grab and secure the outbound leg on its own as a one way booking, and then waitlist a bunch for the return as a seperate one way booking? Or, book as a return with half of it waitlisted? Im not sure what happens then, ie do you potentially lose the guaranteed outbound leg as its linked to a waitlisted flight that may not come through?? Only cons I see with doing 2 seperate one way bookings is losing the potential stopover in singapore and also not being eligible for the singapore transit dollars, thoughts?
And lastly when looking at the available Singapore-Tokyo leg it is flt SQ638, listed as 777-300, when looking at seating availability it says clearly "refitted" but when I look at seat availibility in J the configuration is 2 by 2 by 2, this is the old short haul seats isnt it ? Or do some of the refits have this configuration with the new(ish) fully flat seats, bit confused. Thanks.
