I'm due to accrue 1,500 Status Credits on my rolling calendar year later this month and thought Mrs Gremlin would be in line to benefit from Partner Gold status. From 777's experience in this thread (http://www.australianfrequentflyer....ocity/ok-i-really-unhappy-velocity-33020.html), it appears that I'm actually not going to get there until about Jan/Feb next year (based on current plans for flying), due to my review date being reset on the 25th of August.
Mrs Gremlin's got several flights over the next couple of months where she'll be travelling without me and I'd like for her to have lounge access.
If she were to buy lounge membership, would she be entitled to a pro-rated refund when I reach 1,500 Status Credits? I know that's the case if the member themselves reaches Gold, but don't know how it would be treated as a Partner Gold.
Secondly, what would be the effective cost if she was entitled to a refund? Given the standard membership is $420 and the joining fee is $280, would it be a pro-rated $700 (reasonable) or would it be $280 plus a pro-rated $420 (very expensive)? (Given a couple of the flights she will be travelling with the kids, single entry passes work out to be very, very expensive since she would have to pay for single entry passes for Master Gremlin and Little Miss Gremlin as well)
Thirdly, given the amount of flying I'm due to do between now and August I expect Mrs Gremlin will end up as a Partner Platinum. Am I right in thinking that the clock starts on the Partner Gold year when I hit 1,500 SCs and then resets when I hit 2,000 SCs?
