Looking to book Premium Economy to NY, I noted a fare of c.$1200 a month before departure date. I did not book at the time, but two weeks later noted that the fare had doubled. No surprise there, so I booked with another carrier (Qantas) only to discover that, one week or so before departure, Virgin had reverted to the $1200 fare. Now , I learned my lesson from this, but question the fairness to those who paid the higher fare only to discover it halved close to the departure date. I noted a similar situation with Business Class on the same date, time and route: from c. $3200, then to $7800 (!), and, a week before departure, $4800-odd. To their credit, Qantas did none of these shenagenans...
