1. Do not deal with the Australian Virgin Atlantic FlyingClub in Australia they are very unhelpful and to put it plainly useless. Plus you will be on Hold for ages.
2. Call the 1300 after 8pm and select the optionfor booking a flight even tho you are booking a redemption flight.:D
3. The staff at Virgin Atlantic’s Head Office inLondon are extremely helpful and will spend as much time as you need to gothrough all your options.:D
4. Find out the Class redeemable and contact thatairline directly to find out date availability or check United.com orAeroplan.com or expertflyer (you can receive 5 days free access as a fullmember if you join up). Then ring back Virgin Atlantic to book flights

Air New Zealand
“I” Class for Business

Hawaiian Airlines
“D” Class for Business (FIRST) Note: Youcannot see this class on expert flyer
“T” Class for Economy Note: You can seethis class on expert flyer

5. Don’t believe the limited information on theVirgin Atlantic Website as to where you can travel to and from with theirpartner airlines
Ie Hawaiian is only available from the USAMainland to Hawaii and for Inter-Island flight
This is not True you can travel on anyflight path that Hawaiian conducts that has redemption seat available
and this goes for all their other Partner Airlines

IE Syd to HNL
Manilato HNL
Tokyo to HNL
Etc…

6. Virgin Atlantic will inform you the redemptioncost in points when searching for available flights.

IE Air New Zealand Return Ticket
SYDto AKL is 20,000 points Economy and 30,000 points Business
Will need to stay overnight
AKL to HNL is 60,000 points Economy and 90,000 points Business

IE Hawaiian Airlines Return Ticket
SYDto HNL is 80,000 points Economy and 130,000 points Business Return

Another Tip if you are looking to go toHawaii it only cost 150,000 points in Business with Thai Airways via NZ to HNL return and with thechanges to the AMEX MR program this is extremely cheap compared to VirginAtlantic

Other Points All Partner Airline Redemptions are for return tickets and Air New Zealand and Hawaiian can some how get you to Hawaii but the availablity come back is extermely limited Virgin Altantic are Happy of course to charge you the full return for a one way ticket
So redemping sometime can be very inflexible

I hope this has been helpful
Happy to assist and answer any question if I can

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

I am sure you can subject to availability but ring the UK they will provide you with a firm Yes or No answer
