Hi good AFF folk :)

Hope you're all not suffering too much from Mondayitis... I get over it by using Monday as home office day ... am open to the lashings that may come from saying that though haha!

Anyway I am planning some internal flights in the USA in July and plan to use Virgin America.

I saw on the Velocity home page that it ONLY lists the Lounge in LAX as on the lounges I can use as a partner.

Does anyone know if I can use all the Lounges there or only LAX?

I am doing the following cities.

LAX
LAV
JFK
and San Francisco

I know that LAX and JFK have Virgin America lounges but can I use all these plus whatever partner lounges are in New York and San Fran?

Thanks heaps people and keep on posting! :D

The good news is that as a Velocity gold member you are entitled to use all Virgin America lounges before departure on a VX flight.

The bad news is that there is only one Virgin America lounge - the 'Loft' in LAX. The other lounges that Virgin America lists on its website are Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses, and as a Velocity Gold you can only access those on a complimentary basis if you are flying Virgin Atlantic.

To access the JFK or SFO Clubhouse you'd need to rely on VX's standard access rules, which allows F class, Main Cabin Select guests, and Elevate members to purchase entry to the clubhouse on top of their ticket price ($75 at JFK, or $40 at SFO).

Given that Elevate and Velocity now do a little bit of status recognition there might be a small chance you could bluff your way into buying access to the Clubhouse whilst only seated in main cabin but I certainly wouldn't count on it.

Failing all else you could sign up to the Elevate program for free if they decided you couldn't pay them for lounge access whilst seated in the Main Cabin without an Elevate account. When I was there, the VS SFO lounge was lovely - and the VS JFK lounge looks amazing.

I have the same itinerary next week with the family except for SFO. I'm plat and the wife is gold (kids are red), so I'll try the bluff method. But I will check out the Elevate idea too.

Apologies if you knew already but just be aware that children under 12 aren't allowed in the SFO Clubhouse. And even if your children are all teenagers by the time you spend $40/head it would be a rather expensive afternoon's entertainment (and the Clubhouse has quite limited hours too - 1230 to 1600).

Thanks for that update. Yes kids are teens but it may not be with the cost or hassle at JFK.
