Velocity Points with Singapore Air Group for uprades

Velocity/Virgin Australia miles! Can miles/Points be used with Singapore Airline group flights for upgrades etc
as Virgin Australia is a partner airline with Singapore Air.
I am a Velocity member with plenty of miles & usually use Sing Air & for flights out of Australia.& Silk Air within Asia.
Any info would be appreciated

You can only upgrade Virgin Australia flights (i.e. not on partner airlines) with Velocity points.

But you can transfer your Velocity points to KrisFlyer and use those to upgrade on Singapore Airlines. You would need to book an upgradeable Singapore Airlines ticket with an SQ flight number and there would need to be upgrade availability for this to work. Generally it's better value just to book an outright business class reward seat though.
