Velocity points/SCs on Hawaiian inter-island?

Good evening,

If my fiancee and I fly Hawaiian J to HNL for a honeymoon, I gather we earn VA points and SCs -- including on short onward inter-island flights.

Does my platinum (sadly due to be gold by then) status bump things up, or is it just 1.5 points/mile as per the site?

Any general advice about getting to HNL from SYD?

Is Hawaiian the only way to accrue Velocity points/SCs?

You will only get the 1.5 points/mile on the SYD-HNL leg plus 160 SC's. For the inter island flights you will get the points based on the fare class flown, also with no status bonus. SYD-HNL should be on one of the newish A330 aircraft. First (J) is okay but not lie flat seating, more like domestic business class. Service is normally great and food not too bad. You will have access to the Koru lounge in SYD before departure and the Delta Skyclub in HNL on return. Hawaiian is the only way to earn velocity points on a direct service. Enjoy

I flew economy to HNL on Hawaiian a decade or more ago. It was a cross between a creche and a nightclub.

Can you book the VA codeshare flight ? you will earn as per the VA points levels and a eligible sector ...
