I am a platinum member of Velocity and also a Kris flyer, recently I transferred my Kris Flyer points to Velocity leaving a nil balance with Kris. Last week I flew to Singapore and back on Singapore Airlines booked through my Velocity membership.
I was unable to use my Velocity Points to upgrade to business class. I had the impression that the two airline points were interchangeable but unfortunately not.
Does anyone know if, following the closer ties of the 2 airlines, points will be become interchangeable for flight upgrades.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I don't think that it will happen. To upgrade on SQ you would need to do the opposite and transfer miles to Krisflyer and then use them there to upgrade.

The airline points are interchangeable, in that KrisFlyer points can be transferred to Velocity (and vice versa) at a conversion rate is around 1.35 :1 in each direction (OTTOMH).

However, to use points for an upgrade on SQ metal, my understanding is that you'll need to book the flight using an SQ code and then upgrade using KrisFlyer miles. Velocity Miles could be used to purchase an economy or business-class ticket on SQ but not to upgrade.
