Hi all

I am wondering if anyone has had any experience using Delta Business Class before?

I am trying to keep majority of my flights VAmerica but my trip from Las Vegas to San Diego doesn't seem to be an option on VAmerica.

Anyway be nice to hear your thoughts

ciao

The only time I've used it was in December when a guy in First asked if I could move from my Economy Comfort seat to his in First so he could sit next to his wife in economy. This was a LAX to CVG flight so I was fine with that. :D

Las to SAN is a whole lot shorter than that and I wouldn't bother paying the extra. Look at Y and see if you can pay for an Economy Comfort seat. IIRC LAX to SAN it's only an extra $19.

You'll need to fly LAS-LAX-SAN. I've only flown DL F on LAX-ATL on a 757-300 and service we got a comfortable reclining seat, a reasonably good meal, and a reasonable standard of service.

But on sectors as short as LAS-LAX and LAX-SAN I wouldn't expect anything beyond a choice of packaged snack food.

In fact... here's your first class dining experience on the 55 minute LAX-SAN sector:
"Choose from a selection of complimentary snacks: peanuts, pretzels or Biscoff cookies."

Of course you would pick up SCs but personally I would just skip the hassle of a LAX transit and the extra cash of DL F to fly WN direct.

Thanks guys, what would you guys say is the best way to fly direct - I saw Southwest might do something like that but no points with them.

Southwest and Spirit both operate LAS-SAN direct. I've never flown either. NK's propensity for tacky advertising and their reputation as an "ultra low cost" carrier means they've never appealed to me much. WN famously offers free peanuts and free checked baggage - personally, that would be my choice.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Never had a problem with Southwest. Great value. I've done the short hop LAX-LAS and the trans-con US LAS-JFK (with a stop in STL) with them, and have no hesitation flying with them again.

As long as you are aware that's it's BYO entertainment and the check-in process/seat allocation is pretty much "first in, best dressed".
